The Georg Fischer Type 582 pressure reducing valve body is fully molded, providing several performance benefits. Machining bodies can create sharp corners at high stress points that can lead to stress cracking. The flow characteristcs between two like machined bodies can differ significantly because of small dimensional inconsistences and true union connections often require additional fusions which increases the number of leak paths in a given valve. The type 582 eliminates all of these issues to provide consistent performance with a variety of end connection options.
Type 582 pressure reducing valves are available in 3/8" to 2" sizes in PVC, CPVC, PP and PVDF materials. The Bonnet is glass-filled PP, the Diaphragm is PTFE/EPDM and the seals are EPDM, FPM or PTFE. Type 582 is mounted using stainless steel threaded inserts. The set pressure range is 7 - 130 psi.
